Alexa Breske would like to become a pharmacist. PKU enhanced her interest in learning and science, and she in turn educated others, starting as early as elementary school. She excels as an athlete, a dancer, member of DECA, and continues to educate her community about PKU wherever she goes. She credits a supportive family with her becoming a healthy PKU adult. Says Alexa, “I’m forever grateful that I was blessed with PKU, because it taught me to appreciate being different and to accept others completely.”
