Troubleshooting Video Playback

The video on the PKU News website is encoded in QuickTimeŽ format. QuickTime is available from Apple for Macintosh and Windows computers. Windows Media Player and Real Player cannot play QuickTime videos. You need to install the free Quicktime player in order to view the video.

If you're having trouble playing the video, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Visit Quicktime Installation Check page to find out whether Quicktime is installed correctly on your system.

  2. If you need to install the free Quicktime player, visit Apple's download page. You may need to check the system requirements to make sure your computer can handle the Quickstream installation.

  3. If you are trying to view the movie from behind a firewall, follow these instructions from Applie to manually adjust your player settings: How to Receive a Streaming Movie Behind a Firewall.

  4. Windows users: If you are experiencing problems and have already installed QuickTime, consult Apple's: Windows Troubleshooting Tips.
